Operation Boot Camp’s 2010 Body Transformation Challenge Comes To Smyrna
With the new year just a few weeks away, it’s time to start thinking about your New Year’s resolutions. If losing weight and getting in shape is a top priority in 2010, Operation Boot Camp’s (OBC’s) 2010 Body Transformation Challenge is a great place to start.
Voted the #1 Boot Camp by SmyrnaVinings.com and Atlanta Sports & Fitness Magazine, OBC’s newest challenge gives an extra boost to OBC’s usual fitness regime of outdoor exercise sessions at local parks. Contestants must participate for two consecutive camps for a total of 60 days beginning January 4. Contestants will have their body fat measured at the beginning, middle and end of those 60 days. The contestant who loses the highest percentage of relative body fat will receive $1,000 in prizes, while the second-place winner will receive $500 worth of prizes, including gift cards to local restaurants, spas and chiropractors, and boot camps passes, among other vendors.
The challenge will take place with participating camps in Smyrna-Vinings, Rhyne Park and Cumberland. Like the regular boot camp, it is a co-ed program for all fitness levels that provides nutritional guidance throughout the duration.
For more information, visit the OBC website at http://www.operationbootcamp.com/rhynepark.

Actually, it’s more of a turkey sign, than an actual turkey that was stolen in Vinings, but hopefully I got your attention. Seems like everyone is picking on the birds right now, between the Atlanta Falcons falling apart and chickens and roosters getting booted out of Roswell, it’s just not a good time to be a bird.
It seems that a wooden turkey sign was recently taken from a local Vinings resident and transplanted into another Vinings homeowner’s yard along with hundreds of other signs.
Nothing more despicable than a cowardly act such as this. But…the current holder of the wooden turkey holding a “Happy Turkey Day” message would like to return this to it’s rightful owner.
If this is indeed your sign, please contact Gillian Greer at the Vinings Historic Preservation Society and she will put you in touch with the lady who is holding it for safe keeping!
You can contact Gillian at 770-432-3343.
And thank you Gillian for bringing this important community issue to our attention.
