Mark your calendar for the seventh annual Smyrna Beer Fest.
Come sample some of the greatest local, domestic & import beers, as well as limited wine tasting booths along with great food from Smyrna Market Village restaurants.
Entertainment includes live music & college football games on the big screens inside Atkins Park Tavern. Guests will receive an 7 oz commemorative drinking glass for beer tasting, program and a chance to win contests & raffles with great prizes & giveaways with paid admission.
This is the event you just have to be at on Saturday, September 25th, 2010, from 1pm – 6pm at Smyrna Market Village. Discounted advance tickets are $25 or $35 day of event at the gate.
Proceeds will benefit Mustard Seed Communities and the Smyrna Education Foundation. This event is hosted by Atkins Park Tavern. Event details include:
- Admission includes 100’s of the finest local, domestic & import beers available for tasting.
- Some limited wine tasting tables.
- Centered around Smyrna Market Village’s beautiful Water Fountain
- Entertainment from Lethal Rhythms.
- Entry includes a commemorative 7 oz. tasting glass.
- Proceeds benefit Mustard Seed Communities and The Smyrna Education Foundation
- Entry is limited to first 4000 participants.
- No strollers, backpacks, coolers, etc.

The Vinings Historic Preservation Society is hosting its Fifth Annual Vinings Tour of Homes on Sunday, September 26th, but the fun begins the night before. Join local Vinings residents on Saturday, September 25, from 6:00-9:30 p.m. for our official Vinings Tour of Homes Preview Party! The Vinings event of the season, catered by South City Kitchen, kicks off at the Cochran-Schroder home. The Cochran-Schroder home is a showplace located in the heart of Vinings. The Preview Party is surely a welcome respite from a long, hot summer and something to look forward to.
Tickets for the Preview Party are $75 per person and include a ticket to Sunday’s Vinings Tour of Homes, plus delicious signature hors d’oeuvres from South City Kitchen and libations for all. Also taking place at the Preview Party will be a silent auction and a live auction emceed by Vinings’ favorite auctioneer, Bill Borden. Up for grabs will be art, gifts, dining and much more.
Bring your checkbook and plan to leave with presents and a blast of an evening behind you.

2010 Vinings Tour of Homes
The Vinings Historic Preservation Society is hosting its Fifth Annual Tour of Homes on Sunday, September 26, 2010 from 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. The Tour of Homes features five homes selected by the Tour of Homes Committee and the model homes at The Aberdeen on Paces Ferry. This mix of homes is a microcosm of the community of Vinings–offering a range of styles from traditional to contemporary. For young and old, this varied assortment of homes is sure to captivate all audiences.
The Tour of Homes is a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. It’s also an opportunity to be inspired. Take a peek inside the homes and take design ideas home with you. Proceeds of the Tour of Homes will benefit the Vinings Historic Preservation Society.
Tickets are available through the following supporting merchants:
The Aberdeen on Paces Ferry, Antiques of Vinings, Curves of Vinings and Fidelity Bank and online.
Tickets cost $20 per person.

West Village Wine Stroll
Be sure to come check out the wine stroll in West Village on Wednesday, September 8th from 6-10pm. You can register at Crepe Revolution from 6-9pm. Stroll between participating restaurants and taste great wine offerings from different regions and countries along with great food pairings. $5 in advance, $10 at the door.
Participating restaurants include:
- L’ Thai Organic Cuisine and Wine Bar
- Lime Taqueria & Tequila Bar
- Crepe Revolution
A portion of the proceeds will to go breast cancer research.
West Village is located just off of Atlanta Road and I-285.

Here’s something to get excited about. Atkins Park Tavern in the Smyrna Market Village will be holding a very special dinner next Tuesday at 7pm. It’s a po’boy dinner paired with Abita beer. The menu will be:
Traditional New Orleans Roast Beef - topped with hand cut fries, brown gravy, lettuce, tomato, mayo & pickles. This will be paired with an Abita Abbey Ale.
Paneed Veal Cutlet – red eye gravy, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato, mayo & pickles. This will be paired with an Abita Jockamo.
Louisiana Gator – sauteed, smothered in crawfish etouffee and swiss chese. This will be paired with an Abita Andygator.
Root Beer Float – Abita root beer and homemade ice cream
