Smyrna Recycling Center

Welcome back!

The Smyrna Recycling Center is available for all of your recycling needs.

Keep Smyrna Beautiful asks for your assistance in making sure all unnecessary items stay out of the landfill. In order to make sure the Smyrna recycling program is successful, please use the following guidelines:

The following items are accepted for recycling:

newspapers, magazines, bulk mail, phone books, clean #1 and #2 plastic bottles, corrugated cardboard, scrap metal, aluminum cans, large appliances ($35 fee for refrigerators and air conditioners), color-separated glass jars and bottles (lids may be placed in the metal bin), automobile batteries, metal food cans, yard waste**, and Christmas trees**, cell phones, rechargeable batteries.  Plastic grocery bags, clear newspaper sleeves and six-pack rings will be accepted in separate bins (see attendant).   American flags are collected at the Recycling Center for a proper ceremonial disposal.

* *Residents Only

They do not accept:

plastics other than listed above, polystyrene (styrofoam), pyrex or cooking glass, plate glass, window glass, mirrors, drinking glasses, ceramic cups, light bulbs, crystal, aerosol cans, paint.

As of August 4, 2008, the Smyrna Recycling Center will take your old computers, phones, monitors, and any other nonhazardous electronics (see the list below). You do not have to be a resident of Smyrna to use this service. Simply bring your items to the Center on 645 Smyrna Hill Drive during hours of operation and let Ann Hampton, the Manager, know that you have electronics for recycling.
