Keep Smyrna Beautiful

Keep Smyrna Beautiful, Inc. is a non-profit organization made up of concerned people from all walks of life joined together to help the public become more aware and concerned about environmental issues.

The Keep Smyrna Beautiful Commission which consists of appointees of the Mayor and Council, serves as the Board of Directors of the organization along with eight at large members chosen by the Board.

A member of the Keep America Beautiful System, Keep Smyrna Beautiful, Inc. is funded by the City of Smyrna, recycling revenues, and private contributions. Keep Smyrna Beautiful works with local schools to promote awareness of environmental and solid waste issues through the Partners in Education program.

The Keep Smyrna Beautiful Program and volunteers continue to win awards, year after year.

To bring together the resources of government, businesses and residents of the City of Smyrna to protect and improve the quality of life and the environment in our community.

Cost of Programs/Admission

They have a Sensory Garden located at the Smyrna Community Center, and a native tree Arboretum on the adjacent property. They operate a Recycling Education Center at 645 Smyrna Hill Drive.

For Smyrna area schools, they offer “Trash to Treasurers” and “Environmental Bulletin Board” contests, mini-grants for outdoor classrooms and environmental education projects and and teacher scholarships for environmental in-service classes as part of our Partner-In-Education program.

Hours of Operation
Sensory Garden and Arboretum are open 7 days during daylight hours. Guided tours are available by appointment, M-F, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Recycling Education Center tours are available by appointment M,Tues., and Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.; Thursday, noon – 5:00 P.M.
