Lime Taqueria Wine Tasting
Gourmet Mexican wines and cuisine take center stage at Lime Taqueria.
Lime Taqueria will uncork the flavor of L.A.Cetto, one of the most renowned and oldest wineries in Mexico. L.A.Cetto’s award-winning wines will be paired with a special menu designed by Oscar Mendivil, Lime’s Executive Chef.
“I’m excited about introducing Atlantans to L.A. Cetto wines. People may be surprised to find out that Mexico not only has good tequila and beer but wines that are equal to or better than good Spanish wines,” said Mendivil.
To properly showcase these wines, Mendivil will pair them with four exceptional dishes that combine seafood, meat and vegetables with exquisite Mexican flavors such as ancho and poblano pepper.
Founded by the Italian Angelo Cetto in 1930, L. A. Cetto has obtained a total of 132 international prizes in France, Italy, Spain, England, Canada and the United States. Its wines reflect the quality and consistency of the Mexican wine culture.
The menu includes:
L.A. Cetto Sauvignon Blanc paired with sprimp ceviche with lobster served in cucumber
L.A. Cetto Chardonnay paired with grilled panela cheese served with applewood smoked bacon and ancho salsa
L.A. Cetto Petite Sirah paired with grilled lamb lolipops marinated in citrus juice and oregano pesto
L.A. Cetto Cabernet Sauvignon paired with grilled skirt steak with roasted tomato salsa, grilled poblanos and asadero cheese
The Lime Taqueria wine dinner is $20/person and will be held March 31, 2010 from 7-8:30pm in West Village.
