Gourmet Mexican wines and cuisine take center stage at Lime Taqueria.
Lime Taqueria will uncork the flavor of L.A.Cetto, one of the most renowned and oldest wineries in Mexico. L.A.Cetto’s award-winning wines will be paired with a special menu designed by Oscar Mendivil, Lime’s Executive Chef.
“I’m excited about introducing Atlantans to L.A. Cetto wines. People may be surprised to find out that Mexico not only has good tequila and beer but wines that are equal to or better than good Spanish wines,” said Mendivil.
To properly showcase these wines, Mendivil will pair them with four exceptional dishes that combine seafood, meat and vegetables with exquisite Mexican flavors such as ancho and poblano pepper.
Founded by the Italian Angelo Cetto in 1930, L. A. Cetto has obtained a total of 132 international prizes in France, Italy, Spain, England, Canada and the United States. Its wines reflect the quality and consistency of the Mexican wine culture.
The menu includes:
L.A. Cetto Sauvignon Blanc paired with sprimp ceviche with lobster served in cucumber
L.A. Cetto Chardonnay paired with grilled panela cheese served with applewood smoked bacon and ancho salsa
L.A. Cetto Petite Sirah paired with grilled lamb lolipops marinated in citrus juice and oregano pesto
L.A. Cetto Cabernet Sauvignon paired with grilled skirt steak with roasted tomato salsa, grilled poblanos and asadero cheese
The Lime Taqueria wine dinner is $20/person and will be held March 31, 2010 from 7-8:30pm in West Village.
Hard to believe it’s already March, but you know what that means. The St. Patrick’s Day Festival at the Smyrna Market Village is quickly approaching. So you’ll definitely want to mark your calendar for one of Atlanta’s biggest and growing St. Patrick’s Day festivals.
The festival is a celebration of Irish heritage enjoyed by over 2,000 people in previous years.
Atkins Park Tavern is the host for this great Smyrna Market Village event and is always well planned and offers food, fun, and music for the entire family.
The festival begins at 4pm and runs until 11pm on March 17th. Irish music, traditional foods, vendor novelties, contests, and other live entertainment make this an ideal event for your family on St. Patrick’s Day.
The festival typically kicks off with Smyrna’s mayor, Max Bacon, dying the Smyrna Market Village fountain green to fit in with the festivities. The event has been popular with Smyrna Vinings residents of all ages, so don’t miss out. It’s certainly an event the whole family can enjoy.
Highlights include:
Wednesday, March 17, 2010 – 4pm – 11pm
Traditional Irish Festival

Annual Dying of the Fountain with Smyrna Mayor Max Bacon

OK, so I’ve tried to stay away from the Bad MLS Photos of the Week for awhile. In fact, I think it’s been over a year since we ran this feature. There are always bad photos that I run across and then there are really bad photos.
This week I ran across this Smyrna home and pictures. Which also gave me an idea that I need to do a piece on The Top 10 Reasons Your Home won’t Sell in 2010. I’ll think about that one for awhile, so stay tuned.
But on to this week’s winner. I came across it because of the first picture. The following is the primary picture on the multiple listing service.
Generally, we show a great shot of the front of the home. Show off the curb appeal of a home and also to help the buyer identify with the home when they drive by. Apparently, this great side shot of the deck and house is as good as it gets.
Now the beautiful thing about the multiple listing service is that you can put up to 16 photos of a home and add a virtual tour. In this case, they decided 5 photos in total is all that it would take to sell the home. Here are the others. (Editor’s note: these pictures are small and very hard to see, but we have made no alterations to the original pictures.)
And my favorite picture (keep in mind there are only five, so the last one better be great to really woo the buyers).
There you have it. A nice shot of a washer and dryer. Now this may come as a surprise, but this Smyrna home for sale is priced at $499,000. It’s been on the market since September 12, 2009 and with these pictures, it will probably still be there on September 12, 2010.
