Vinings Historic Preservation Society Used Book Sale and Book Signing

October 23, 2011
12:00 pmto5:00 pm

The Vinings Historic Preservation Society (VHPS) will have a used book sale and book signing event at the Pace House and Old Pavilion on Sunday, October 23rd from 12-5pm.

Local author, Marion Blackwell, will also be at the event signing copies of his newly published book, “Blue Locusts.” His book is a fascinating cross section of short stories about the Civil War, Atlanta area history, his passion for hiking, his long real estate career, and other topics. There is something for everyone in this book! Marion will donate $5 to VHPS for every book sold in their office and at the upcoming book sale.

Vinings Historic Preservation Society is accepting donations of used paperback and hard back books now! It’s time to pack up all those books you’ve been meaning to get out of your house and donate them to a good cause! You may drop off your books at the VHPS office on the corner of Paces Mill and Paces Ferry (3010 Paces Mill Road) Monday – Friday. If you happen to stop by when they are out to lunch or not in the office, please just leave your donations by the door with your name and address. They will send you a letter of thanks along with a charitable donation form to report your donation. All donations to VHPS are tax deductible.

All proceeds from this event will be used towards a major (and very costly) repair of the Pace House foundation. The Pace House was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2009. This event will kick off our fundraising for this project and your support with your used book donations will be greatly appreciated!

They have several surprises planned for October 23rd and they will have activities for the children! Save the date and join your friends and neighbors for a fun filled fall day at the Pace House and Pavilion!
