The City of Smyrna will be officially opening the new Taylor-Brawner Park, located on the campus of the former Brawner Hospital. The dedication ceremony will take place on Saturday at 10am.
Later in the evening, Pat Terry will be giving a free concert as a special treat at 7pm in the park amphitheater near the children’s playground.
The concept for the Taylor-Brawner Park was to provide an open space, passive park that includes trails, large lawn, children’s playground, pavilion, formal gardens, outdoor classroom, parking, and landscaping.
The restoration of the Brawner Hospital building is intended to provide for a combination of reception, meeting, class and craft rooms, and office space and the restoration of the Taylor-Brawner house is also available to rent for special events or meetings.
