Welcome back to our Bad MLS Photo program, the Late Nite Edition. Couple photos caught my eye today and decided they would make excellent examples of what not to do when shooting photos of your client’s home for sale. This week’s edition we’re focusing on (no pun intended) on close-ups.

I fail to understand the value of the close-up in this picture. Are the knobs some sore of exotic handcrafted pewter? Or is the bathroom soooooo small that they couldn’t get more than two feet away from the vanity and the bathtub. This is definitely not the way to portray a “spacious bathroom”.

Similar to the last one, I really don’t understand what the intentions are of the photo. Are the bushes that nice or is the house so ugly that they didn’t want to get more than half the front door, half the sidewalk and the overgrown bushes in the picture. One may never know.

Close-up photos can be an effective tool for real estate agents when marketing properties. But with only 12 pictures allowed in the Multiple Listing Service, I would typically say that close-ups are probably better in a virtual tour where you can provide ample photos and use the close-up to really hone in on something unique or to show the quality of the build.

If you’ve thought about selling your home and are afraid that your home might one day be included in the Bad MLS Photo of the Week, don’t fret. Contact us today and we’ll be glad to talk about how we get homes sold in Smyrna Vinings with high-quality photos.

Thanks for being with us tonight and be sure to join us next week for the lastest episode of “Bad MLS Photo of the Week”. Stay tuned…
