Historic Vinings Village

The Vinings Historic Preservation Society invites you to a unique interactive evening of History and Place, to be held Thursday, June 26, 7:00pm, at the Pace House and Old Pavilion on Paces Mill Rd. The evening will be the unveiling of Tony Doyle’s new book Vinings Revisited.”

After 8 months of compiling research, Tony says that there is much to appreciate about a sense of this place called Vinings. Have you ever wondered how Vinings got its name? This, and more comes with a comprehensive work of historic intrigue about our own backyard.

Tony will open the evening with introductory comments and make available some surprising opportunities for members to see and feel what old Vinings was like. Included will be several present deemed the oldest and interesting of those he calls “Elders”, who worked on the railroad, knew all the players, and provided many of their stories in the book.

“This is an opportunity to become aware of just how much myth, legend, and history surrounds Vinings, and underscores the importance of it’s preservation. All that being relevant, its Thursday and a work night, so no flipcharts or long lecture. Come, learn, and enjoy.” –Tony Doyle

Vinings Revisited will be available for purchase beginning at 6:30, with brief discussion at 7:00pm.
