Welcome back!

Cobb County Comprehensive Transportation Plan

In 2005, the voters of Cobb County passed a Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) that will generate approximately $700M over the next six years to address immediate and near term safety, mobility and air quality needs in the county. As a follow on to this landmark action, the county and its six cities (Acworth, Austell, Kennesaw, Marietta, Powder Springs and Smyrna) are launching a Comprehensive Transportation Study that will produce a plan to meet mobility needs for the next 25 years.

The study, which will be concluded in Fall 2007, will assess land use and transportation relationships and investigate alternative ways to ensure the most efficient movement of people and goods in this rapidly growing county. The result will be a multi-modal plan that will serve as a blueprint for transportation investments in the county and cities for decades to come.

A series of public information meetings are being held from October 29 to November 8. You will have the opportunity to view maps, review the draft recommendations and offer your valuable input.

The final meeting will be held at the Central Library at 266 Roswell Road in Marietta from 5:30 to 7:30pm on Thursday, November 8, 2007.
